Use your tremolo arm as a setup guide. Stop guessing, start setting up guitars like a pro!
Adjusting guitars with floating tremolos, locking or non-locking, has always been an extra challenge to any setup due to string tension and, in order to simplify the setup, we always end up using some improvised jig or shim that most of the times involves removing the back plate using whatever we might have at our disposal to keep the base of the tremolo more or less levelled with the body - but it never does.
With this new jig, that task couldn't be any easier: due to it's custom tapered grove, you just have to pull it under the tremolo bar, keeping eye on the angle between the base of the tremolo and the body and you're done. From this point you have a clear path ahead till the end of the setup, fret dressing, fretboard conditioning or whatever job implies removing all the strings at once and you are sure that your tremolo stays where it needs to be. Simple as that and no extra tools required.
