Here's our YouTube video for the Manual Radius Jig.
Pair this jig with your radius sanding beam and you're ready to radius fretboard blanks as well as shaped necks (not applicable for set or through necks, only bolt-on/Fender style necks).
This incredibly sturdy jig provides you the proper parallel guidance while sanding the radius of the fretboard, to help you ensure accuracy and a perfect radius.
- Radiusing fretboards:
Attach the blank to the aluminium base (centered) and place the aluminum base in the jig's base (also centered). - Radiusing already glued fretboards (or one-piece style necks):
Fix the neck, centerlined, in the jig base using the adjustable handle screws on the jig's sides, which will move the side blocks inward.
Jig package includes:
- 1x Jig (top guides, side parts, base)
- 1x Aluminium base
- 2x Adjustable side blocks
- 6x Handle screws
Jig materials:
- Top guides: Aluminium (10mm thick)
- Side parts: Aluminium (10mm thick)
- Base: Phenolic board (12mm thick)
- Adjustable side blocks: Phenolic board (19mm thick)
The jig base features two countersunk holes so it can be fixed to a workbench.
This jig was designed to pair with our aluminium radius beams, although the wood beams can also be used if each side of the wood beam is slightly sanded.
